What's the difference between genuine alligator and alligator grain?

Owners of fine, Swiss watches typically seek genuine alligator replacement watch bands. As the description suggests, these high-quality straps are made from farm-raised alligator skins. An alligator grain watch band, on the other hand, is one made from genuine leather, and is stamped with an imprint to resemble the skin of an alligator.

Genuine alligator straps offered by The Watch Prince are all good (or better) quality. Alligator grain straps tend to vary more in both construction and appearance. For example, a Di-Modell alligator grain watch band, such as the Orlando, is an excellent strap that we would have no problem recommending to the owner of an expensive timepiece. Toscana and Hadley-Roma also offer some very nice models.
On the other end of the spectrum, owners of inexpensive watches can find lesser quality, alligator grain straps for less than $25.
